Problem related to molality

  • A solution contains 53 gram of anhydrous sodium carbonate dissolved in 250gram of water. How can we calculate the molality of the solution?

Solution.

Here use the equation molality=w/MW

w=53

M=106

W=250 gram=0.25 kg

Therefore molality=53/106*0.25=2
